Choose the event and the destination

Start with one scheduled session: a live workshop, training, webinar, or community session. Enter its title, start time, time zone, and the destination attendees should open. Publish the event before adding its claim experience to registration.

Decide whether the destination is a shared attendee link or requires individual access. For registration-gated platforms, verify the permitted join flow before putting a URL on a pass. Never distribute a host link as the attendee destination.

Example: an online customer workshop

For an illustrative October 8 workshop at 11:00 a.m. America/Chicago, the registration confirmation offers an event pass and calendar invitation. The pass carries the workshop name, time, and attendee destination. A registrant can save it immediately, then reopen it from Wallet when it is time to join.

• Registration page: collect the information needed for the event and connected workflow.
• Confirmation page: show the confirmed schedule, calendar option, and Wallet claim button.
• Wallet: test the pass name, branding, event time, and destination on both platforms.
• Attendance: reconcile the live platform’s attendee report after the session.

Configure the reminder sequence

Review the one-hour, fifteen-minute, and start-time Wallet reminders. The first two can be configured for the event. Decide which email or SMS reminders your other tools will send, and avoid duplicating the same message at every time slot.

The confirmation can explain preparation and logistics. A reminder near the start should make the next action clear. For an event that changes time, update the source schedule and check the saved pass, calendar, and email workflow independently.

Publish and test the complete registration journey

Use the same page and confirmation channel your attendees will use. Complete a test registration, open the claim link, and finish saving the pass in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Then verify the destination and a controlled event update.

• Check the published time zone against the event platform and calendar invitation.
• Test a late registration so it does not receive obsolete reminders from your other tools.
• Test two registrants when access is personal; confirm neither receives the other’s destination.
• Keep the attendee join path available even if they choose not to save a pass.

Understand what Wallet delivery proves

A generated pass, a claim-page visit, a confirmed save, and a notification request are different events. A successful request to a Wallet provider does not prove that the attendee saw a reminder.

Phone settings and connectivity affect notification delivery and display. Use real-device testing to check the saved experience. A browser preview demonstrates the design, but cannot establish that a phone received an update.

Compare reminder software by the job you need done

For online sessions, check scheduling, registration mapping, saved-pass updates, and reporting. If your event also needs ticket sales, barcode validation, assigned seats, or door access control, evaluate those requirements separately before choosing your tools.
